Mai Hontama (born August 30, 1999, in Machida, Tokyo) is a Japanese tennis player who reached a career-high singles ranking of No. 105 on August 5, 2024. 
She achieved a doubles career-high of No. 109 on November 6, 2023.
Hontama has won four singles titles and five doubles titles on the ITF Women’s Circuit.
She made a strong breakthrough in 2021 by reaching the quarterfinals of the WTA 500 Chicago Fall Tennis Classic after qualifying, which included a win over former world No. 4 Caroline Garcia. 
Her Grand Slam highlight includes reaching the second round at Wimbledon Championships in 2022.
Hontama plays right-handed with a two-handed backhand, began playing tennis at age four, and favors hard courts.
