It’s Championship Sunday here in Austin! After an incredible week of world-class tennis, thrilling matches, and electric crowds, we’ve reached the final day of the inaugural AUSTIN125. Today, the spotlight shines on our finalists — with the doubles and singles titles up for grabs, and a packed crowd ready to witness the action unfold.
The top seeds, Maria Kozyreva and Iryna Shymanovich, have been unstoppable this year, capturing three WTA 125 doubles titles — in Bari and Valencia (June 2025), and most recently in Guadalajara this past September. Shymanovich adds further strength to their partnership with five WTA 125 doubles titles and a WTA 250 crown, maintaining a perfect record in WTA finals.
Across the net stand the Sisters Corley: Carmen and Ivana Corley, who hail from Albuquerque, New Mexico. The sisters’ connection and belief have fueled their rapid rise. Former University of Oklahoma standouts, they’ve claimed back-to-back titles at the Hall of Fame Open and Porto Open, continuing their inspiring climb from neighborhood courts to the global stage.
Renata Zarazúa has enjoyed a standout season, competing in all four Grand Slams and even scoring a memorable Top 10 victory over Madison Keys inside Arthur Ashe Stadium at this year’s US Open. Now, she’s looking to cap off her season by adding another Fall WTA title to her collection, having lifted trophies in November 2023, and again in Charleston last fall.
Standing in her way is Marina Stakusic, whom Zarazúa will face for the first time. The 20-year-old Canadian has continued her impressive rise since playing a pivotal role in Canada’s 2023 Billie Jean King Cup victory. No stranger to WTA 125 finals, Stakusic captured the Tampico title in 2024, and added another trophy just last week, winning the ITF W100 Guanajuato Open.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt thanks to our sponsors, our dedicated volunteers, hardworking ball crew, the DropShot team, and most importantly, you, the fans. You’re the reason we’re able to bring world-class tennis to beautiful Austin. Happy Finals Day!
