Winner of the WTA 500 Guadalajara last month, Jovic has also played and won matches at the Australian Open, French Open, and US Open
AUSTIN, Texas – Seventeen-year-old American tennis phenom Iva Jovic has committed to play the inaugural Austin125, the newest WTA 125 tournament, running November 3–9, 2025, at the Austin Tennis Academy at Spanish Oaks. Already ranked #36 in the world, she is the youngest player in the WTA Top 100.
Jovic has had quite the year on tour. At last year’s US Open, she became the youngest woman to win a main draw match there in more than twenty years; in claiming her championship at the GDL Open in Guadalajara last month, Jovic joined elite company, becoming the youngest American woman to win a tour-level title since Coco Gauff did so at Parma in 2021; and earlier this year at Ilkley (UK), she made more history, winning a WTA 125 title at an age no one before has.
Jovic has quickly proven herself in Grand Slam competition over the past year, reaching the 2nd Round of the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the US Open.
She will be joined at the Austin125 by American stars Sloane Stephens, Peyton Stearns and Australian star Ajla Tomljanović.
“I’m thrilled to be playing in the inaugural Austin125 in November, particularly against some top players and competitors,” said Jovic. “It’s going to be another great challenge for me. I hear the fans are awesome in Austin. I can’t wait to give them my best.”
“Iva Jovic is on her way to being one of the ‘next big things’ in women’s tennis,” said Tournament Director Christo Van Rensburg. “I had the privilege of watching her dominant performance in Mexico last month when she claimed her first WTA 500 title. The energy and excitement she brings to the court will be on full display at the Austin125 in November. Our fans are going to be treated to a special performance at Spanish Oaks.”
