Day 2 of the inaugural AUSTIN125 has arrived, and the excitement continues at the Austin Tennis Academy (ATA). After a thrilling opening day, several seeds saw their Texas campaigns come to an early end. Mary Stoiana, Anouk Koevermans, and Louisa Chirico delivered statement wins, upsetting the No. 8, No. 7, and No. 5 seeds, respectively.

Longhorn Carmen Herea advanced to the Round of 16, and her former and current teammates are looking to join her as main draw play continues. No. 3 seed Renata Zarazúa and No. 6 seed Arantxa Rus were the only seeds to survive Day 1.

The competition will heat up throughout the day with another full slate of matches. Play begins at 10:00 AM, with action once again spread across three courts.

Marquee Matchups

(1) Iva Jovic (USA) vs Anna-Lena Friedsam (GER)
A clash of generations opens the day as 17-year-old phenom and No. 1 seed Iva Jovic faces 31-year-old tour veteran Anna-Lena Friedsam. Jovic — the youngest WTA title winner of 2025 after her Guadalajara 500 triumph — continues to impress with her fearless game. Meanwhile, Friedsam brings seasoned composure to the court; she won her first WTA 125 title at the Suzhou Ladies Open back in 2014, the same year Jovic first picked up a racquet.

(4) Caroline Dolehide (USA) vs Marina Stakusic (CAN) – Today’s clash between Dolehide and Stakusic carries big stakes. For Dolehide, a deep run — or the AUSTIN125 title itself — could propel her back into the Top 100, and potentially secure a spot in the Australian Open main draw. Stakusic, meanwhile, will look to extend her streak and add another trophy to her growing collection.

(WC) Malaika Rapolu (USA) vs (2) Alycia Parks (USA) – Local favorite Rapolu, a former Texas Longhorn, faces a formidable challenge in Parks, the No. 2 seed. Known for her explosive serve and fast pace, Parks thrives on hard courts. She’s claimed one WTA 250 title in Lyon and five WTA 125 titles, with only one coming on grass. Rapolu will look to use her court familiarity and tactical variety to disrupt Parks’ rhythm in what promises to be a high-energy encounter.

(WC) Jennifer Jackson (USA) vs (Q) Mary Lewis (USA) – Two rising Americans face each other on Center Court as wild card Jennifer Jackson takes on qualifier Mary Lewis. Lewis dropped only two games in her qualifying victory to earn a spot in the main draw — marking her first-ever WTA Challenger win. Jackson, meanwhile, makes her return from injury, playing her first match since competing at the ATX Open 250 earlier this year.
